How TopSaaS Rankings Work
TopSaaS is an independent software discovery and community ranking platform where users vote in head-to-head software battles.
1. The Chess-Style Elo Rating Engine
Every SaaS product begins at a baseline 1500 Elo rating. When two tools battle, rating movements scale proportionally based on the strength of the opponent.
2. Ranking Eligibility Tiers
Products transition from Unranked (0-9 votes) to Provisional (10-24 votes) and fully Ranked (25+ votes across 3+ unique opponents).
3. Vote Integrity & Anti-Abuse
Distributed 1-vote-per-identity locks, salted HMAC-SHA256 IP hashing, and rate limiting ensure authentic, manipulation-free leaderboards.
